The 6th China International Metallurgical Materials Trade Expo Opens in Tangshan

Report by trainee journalist Anyang: On the morning of 9 September 2025, the 6th China International Metallurgical Materials Trade Expo opened in Tangshan, with nearly 2,000 companies and organisations from over 20 countries and regions attending.

This year's expo spans over 10,000 square metres, featuring nearly 300 exhibitors, showcasing a full range of products including refractory materials, metallurgical carbon, ferroalloys, and metallurgical auxiliaries. It aims to create a leading platform for industry supply and demand matching, technology exchange, and industrial collaboration, providing an innovative space for high-quality development in the metallurgical materials sector.

For the first time, the expo included an international zone, with new materials companies from Germany and Peru, such as Leifa and Red Beryl, showcasing their latest products. During the expo, multiple networking and negotiation sessions will be organised, with special procurement events led by major companies like Hebei Iron and Steel Group and Ansteel, ensuring precise connections and exchanges.

Since 2019, this expo has been successfully held in Tangshan for five editions and is a major brand event in the upstream metallurgical industry in China. It has been recognised by the Hebei Provincial Department of Commerce as a "provincial-level featured industrial brand expo." As a hub for quality steel, metallurgical materials are an essential supporting industry for Tangshan's steel sector. Hosting the expo in Tangshan attracts domestic and international companies, playing an important role in promoting the high-quality development of the local steel industry.
